These Pearson-accredited BTEC Level 5 Diplomas allow practitioners to specialise in their chosen pathway, based on the requirements of their role and setting, with all routes providing a firm foundation in Practice Leadership.
All Bild Diploma learners will undertake core units in:
- Capable and Supportive Environments
- Practice Leadership
- Working with people with lived experience to influence change
These are accompanied by two additional specialist units providing further knowledge in underlying principles and their practical application. This practical application is required to meet the Diploma criteria.

Bild Diploma pathways
We offer a range of different specialist pathways for the Bild Diploma in Practice Leadership.
Delivered by Bild Centre for the Advancement of PBS.
New for 2026, this pathway prepares social care practitioners to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of those they support.
Developed in collaboration with people with lived experience; Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust and Restraint Reduction Network (RRN), and delivered in partnership with the RRN.
Learners must work directly in services seeking to reduce long term segregation.
Delivered in partnership with the Restraint Reduction Network.
This human rights focused qualification, co-designed and co-delivered by people with lived experience of restrictive practices, is an excellent fit with current policy across the UK and will have direct impact on improving services and people’s lives.
Delivered in partnership with Respond.
This pathway develops learners’ understanding of trauma theory and builds skills in trauma-informed practice.
