Webinar – A Grading System For Behaviour Support Plans

In this webinar, we were joined by Dr Brian McClean, Clinical Psychologist working with Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, who spoke about grading behaviour support plans.

Summary:
The term Positive Behaviour Support has been used to describe anything from a non-aversive reactive strategy or a set of antecedent control procedures to a comprehensive functional assessment, and multi-element support plan with periodic service review. For the purposes of cost effectiveness, quality control, the accreditation of services and proper research into its effectiveness, it is vital that we agree operational definitions of Positive Behaviour Support.

This webinar introduces a grading system for behaviour support plans and asked participants to use this system to evaluate ten behaviour support plans of varying quality.

Outcomes:
Participants used and evaluated a new system for grading the quality of behaviour support plans to evaluate 10 behaviour support plans.

Participants identified key components in multi-element behaviour support plans.

Participants learned about quality assurance criteria in Positive Behaviour Support.

Throughout the webinar, participants filled in a survey to grade the behaviour support plans presented. You can continue to take part in filling out this survey here>
