Kate’s Coronavirus lockdown blog: Weather affects people’s moods and feelings and changes to their attitudes

Hello my name is Kate Brackley and I am writing this blog to explain what it feels like to be in a lockdown as part of the Coronavirus that has spread from China to all around the world dominating all over the news channels on your television screens.

This will be a series of blogs on different areas that myself and other people are currently going through and what it feels like coping / not coping in this difficult period.

The weather affects many people in everyday life depending on the weather. This does change people’s view and their attitudes as I have had experience through this as someone that I know one minute the weather gets dull and rainy he gets so down, gets on people’s nerves and causes the person’s behaviour to challenge himself or other people and then when it’s all sunny and bright it brings out the brighter side of life and therefore the person’s mood changes and it shows that he is happy and wants to do fresh and new exiting things.

I think that this happens to many people quite a lot, in my life I do get down when it gets a bit rainy but I don’t see that as an excuse as that’s just down to the weather but it does cheer me up when the sun is out.

For people that are suffering with mental health issues the weather can affect this in many ways mental health is an area that does affect people’s minds, moods and the drive to do something, the weather can change from day to day so mental health and the weather could trigger signals to them and that the mind can do as much as good as it does with the bad and therefore this needs to be under control.
