All About Us: Valuing Learning Disability and Autism

Who is it for?

This course is designed for people who have regular contact or responsibility for the care of people with learning disabilities.

How will I learn?

Equivalent to one day’s training. This course contains approximately 4 hours of e-learning, alongside two 2-hour small group tutorials where learning can be developed and explored in a safe and supportive environment.

One tutorial is co-delivered by a person with lived experience of autism and the other is co-delivered by a person with lived experience of learning disability.

Key topics covered in the course

Entirely coproduced, the content on this course is designed to provide an introduction to both autism and learning disabilities, before going on to explore themes that have an impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals. Both life experiences are discussed as separate and distinct before areas of commonality are explored.
