GOLD Webinar: Doing it my way

St Anne’s Community Services have produced ‘Doing It My Way’, a package of materials and training to support people with learning disabilities, their families and support staff to recognise and manage health issues and enable them to plan for changing health needs.

Doing It My Way was produced by a range of professionals with personal experience of supporting people with learning disabilities, family carers, specialist nurses, trainers and frontline support staff, and has been peer reviewed by a variety of providers and specialist GPs.

Doing It My Way provides a comprehensive range of guidance documents and suggested support planning tools, communication guidance and a film, which is an honest and powerful reflection on why St Annes produced the resource.

In this webinar, Nicky and her team will share their knowledge of managing the cultural change it takes to embed “Doing It My Way” and how it underpins planned health care as people with learning disabilities grow older.
