This two-day CAPBS PBS Practitioner programme introduces the core principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), including the values and evidence that underpin it. You will explore why behaviours of distress occur, their possible functions, and how personal attitudes, values, and beliefs influence the quality of support provided.
Programme Aim
Designed for anyone who delivers direct support or implements behaviour support strategies, this course covers the essential knowledge needed in practice. Participants will examine the purpose and key elements of a behaviour support plan, learn how to use proactive strategies such as teaching new skills, apply appropriate reactive strategies, and understand their role in supporting functional assessments.
Who it’s for
Designed for practitioners looking for a foundational understanding and introduction to PBS.
