The Active Support Coaches Programme helps practitioners with experience of Active Support to develop coaching skills and embed Active Support within their organisation. The programme provides participants with practical experience using a three-tier training process and interactive sessions.
Who’s it for?
The Active Support Coaches Programme is for practitioners with experience of Active Support. Learners must have previously completed Bild’s Foundation in Active Support or similar training. The programme supports learners aiming to become Practice Leaders in Active Support.
What the programme involves
This four-day programme consists of an initial three days of training, where participants will learn practical skills and undertake assessment. This is followed by a workplace assignment and a final, follow-up training day after six months.
Learning outcomes
Participants will be able to:
- Refresh their understanding of Active Support theory.
- Learn why Active Support is a vital strategy within a PBS framework and capable environments.
- Be confident with Practice Leader-led Active Support training content.
- Plan how to deal with potential resistance from staff.
- Practice delivering presentations from the training programme.
- Understand the principles of coaching and practice coaching skills.
- Understand how to model, demonstrate, observe, and provide feedback.
- Use interactive training to coach, role model and develop others.
- Build coaching skills for Practice Leadership.
- Lead practice in their organisation and coach staff in Active Support.
