The purpose of the PBS SIG is to:
- Support professionals to develop and maintain knowledge and skills in Positive Behaviour Support
- Support professionals to embed PBS practice within their workplaces
- Provide opportunities for networking, collaboration, and shared learning
- Build and promote strong interagency relationships
- Create a space for innovation, development, and enthusiasm around PBS
- Share and discuss new guidance, policy, and research
- Disseminate and feedback on topics from the UK PBS Alliance Communities Group
Where appropriate, the group:
- Comments on new guidance, research, or policy
- Adapts national guidance to the Gwent context
- Supports professionals on formal PBS training pathways

- 6 monthly meetings (up to 3 hours)
- Meetings are held both virtually and in person
- Venues rotate across the ABUHB area
- Guest speakers and external contributors may be invited

Previous topics shared have included: Functional Assessment; Implementing school wide PBS; practice leadership; Relational working; Sharing local practice; contributing to development of resources (e.g., the Foundations for Wellbeing – a child and family, attachment informed adaptation of the Capable Environments Framework)
Attendance is expected from professionals who have received ABUHB funded PBS qualifications (e.g. BILD PBS Certificate or Diploma)
Open to any professional working with children and young people with additional needs who has:

- Active involvement in PBS within their role
Professionals across the 5 borough from health, education, social care, and third sector organisations are welcomed.
