In this UK PBS Alliance webinar, we will be joined by Dr Darren Bowring, the General Manager of Adult Social Care for the Government of Jersey. Darren will be speaking to us about positive risk taking and Quality of life.
The prime aim of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) is the promotion of quality of life (QoL). This webinar will explore what quality of life means and how it used as an outcome aim and an intervention in PBS. The use of QoL interventions to reduce levels of challenging behaviour will be explored.
Promoting QoL can sometimes be difficult for practitioners and organisations when there are risks associated with challenging behaviour. Often restrictions are placed on people with challenging behaviour that impact on their QoL. In this webinar we will explore what risks sometimes exist and the important concept of positive risk taking, using a PBS Framework approach.
This webinar will explore, with practical examples, how services can pursue QoL interventions whilst ensuring robust positive risk taking arrangements.
