The Unlimited Company run storysharer courses and workshops to train staff and families, which can involve people with disabilities themselves. A workshop with Unlimited will be delivered by our peer tutors who have learning disabilities and who are trained in the approach.
Nicola Grove (www.storytracks.com) also does consultancy and teaching in storysharing.
Storysharer courses
We run 6 week courses for people with high support needs in residential
or day settings. These courses aim to set up storytelling groups and train
staff to run them. Four to six people are involved, in a weekly group.
Stories are gathered from families and from everyday events and the course
ends with a story cafe, where we share the stories we have gathered with
families, staff and friends. We have had very good feedback from parents and
carers about the groups.
