Which qualification is right for your organisation?

We offer a range of qualifications accredited by City & Guilds to help to train the workforce within learning disability services.

The qualifications offered by BILD are tailored to the needs of individuals and organisations supporting people with learning disabilities. These are available in a flexible package of materials and support.

The qualifications we support are:

  • Level 2 and 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities

  • Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Supporting People with Learning Disabilities

  • Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care

  • Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy
  • Level 3 Certificate in Independent Advocacy

  • Level 3 Diploma in Independent Advocacy

 

Level 2 and 3 Award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities
Level 2 and 3 Certificate in Supporting People with Learning Disabilities


These qualifications provide the opportunity for learners to develop knowledge and skills around supporting individuals with a learning disability. Learners can choose a combination of mandatory and optional units tailored to the needs of the people they support, and their own professional development requirements.

Level 2 and 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care


These are the recognised qualifications for workers in health and social care

These qualifications cover the a wide range of knowledge and skills, including those needed for workers supporting people with learning disabilities.

The advocacy qualifications 

City & Guilds have developed three Independent Advocacy qualifications which are  available through BILD

  • Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy
  • Level 3 Certificate in Independent Advocacy
  • Level 3 Diploma in Independent Advocacy 

Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy

This qualification is suitable for people who are already in an independent advocacy role or who want to learn more about what it involves. These might include volunteers with an advocacy organisation, peer advocates, support workers, family carers.
This qualification will assess the learner’s knowledge about independent advocacy and learners do not necessarily have to be in an advocacy role to complete the qualification.


Level 3 Certificate in Independent Advocacy
Level 3 Diploma in Independent Advocacy

These two qualifications are for people who work as an Independent Advocate, either in a paid or voluntary capacity.  Learners can  select a combination of units to enable them to gain recognition of their skills in specialist areas including Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy, Independent Mental Health Advocacy, and Managing Independent Advocacy Services.
