Communication is a human right

Sue Thurman

This guide looks at the importance of communication for people with learning disabilities and explores the ways in which the argument for it being made a human right has developed. It goes on to identify the barriers to communication and ways of ensuring effective communication rights.

The guide looks at methods of communication and gives some practical examples. It also identifies some useful resources and where to go for further help.
