Accessibility

We want you to be able to use the BILD website easily and find what you are looking for. We hope these options explained below will help you to do this.

Use of screen reading software

The site is set up to be used by screen reading software. If you have any problems with this please let us know by emailing enquiries@bild.org.uk

If you don't want to see the graphic version of the site click on the 'Text Only' link at the top of the page.

Increase the font size

You can increase the size of the text on the page by using the 'Text size' links at the top of the page.

Click on the big letter A to make text bigger, use the smaller letter A to make the text smaller.

Change the text and background colour

You can change the colour of the text and background colour by clicking on the 'Change style' letter symbols at the top of the page.

There are four options, black text on a white background, black text on a yellow background, yellow text on a black background and white text on a black background.

Watch the page on video

Some of the pages have a video link that allows you to watch a short video telling you what is on that page.

You can make the video bigger by clicking on the arrows in the bottom right of the screen.

We have an easy read section of the site, giving information about BILD's work and links to more information in easy read.

Looking for something? Everypage is in the Sitemap and, with less clutter on the page, it may be easier for you to see the section or page you are looking for here.

There is a site-wide search facility at the top of the page, as well as a book search on the book pages.

If you have difficulty in using a mouse or similar devices, you can use keyboard shortcuts. We follow the government's access key system.

The keyboard shortcuts are:

How do I use the access keys for my browser?

  • Internet Explorer 5+: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key, then press ENTER.

  • Internet Explorer 4: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key.

  • Internet Explorer 5+ for Mac: Hold down the CTRL key and select the number/letter of the access key

  • Internet Explorer 4.5 for Mac: Access keys are not supported.

  • Netscape 6+: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key.

  • Netscape earlier versions: Access keys are not supported.

  • Mozilla: Hold down the ALT key and select the number/letter of the access key.
