Yesterday (6 December) we hit the amazing milestone of running our 100th CAPBS Coaches Programme.
A big thanks to all of the coaches who have taken the course and have been making a huge difference in their organisations. Pictured above is the 100th cohort of CAPBS coaches from Action for Children with trainer, Darren Bowring, BILD CEO, Ben Higgins, PBS Development managers Sarah Leitch and Tom Evans and Liam Sutcliffe from the very first coaches programme.
Darren Bowring spoke to us about why the programme is so successful. He said, "The programme focuses on supporting colleagues through coaching, ensuring different learning styles are catered for and ensuring evidenced based research is embedded into practice. A comprehensive set of PBS resources are provided and the Coaches Network ensures everyone has ongoing development and a peer network of colleagues for support."
Sarah Leitch said, "The coaches are an important factor in creating and sustaining positive change directly at service level. 1000 coaches across the UK and overseas are having a positive impact on people's lives - some of the impact that being reported is fantastic -and collectively through the community of practice they are continuously developing their own skills and contributing to the provision of better evidence based support. I am very proud of them all and all they are achieving."
As a part of our 100 Coaches Programmes celebration, we spoke to some of the people who attended the very first coaches programme in December 2014. You can read about their experience and how the CAPBS Coaches Programme has changed their way of working here:
