The Children with Disabilities Service of The Belfast Trust attended an award ceremony last night to find out if they are winners of ‘Our People’ Category for their Chairman's Awards.
The service wanted to embed a PBS ethos and decided to do this through training front line staff to be PBS Coaches. All the staff put forward for the award are CAPBS Coaches and input with staff on a one to one basis, at team meetings and are spreading the PBS message with partner organisations. Crucial to the strategy has been identifying the right front line staff to be Coaches.
Trish Stitt, Senior Improvement Manager of Belfast Trust (far left of picture) says: “I am incredibly proud of the Coaches. What they do, since completing the CAPBS Coaches programme, is so far out of their previous comfort zone. They’ve embraced being a PBS Coach and are making a real difference within the service”.
"I am very proud of the coaches who came first in their category. The money won will go towards developing more coaches within the service, providing specialist training to managers and senior managers and developing a training programme in partnership with the parents within our service. Everyone had a great night and were delighted to be acknowledged for their hard work."
