Advocacy
Advice and training
BILD offers advice and training about advocacy to those who provide services
for people with a learning disability. We also work with local authorities and
other organisations from the private sector to advise and evaluate their
practices in user involvement.
We also offer a number of training events on advocacy that reflect the most up to date issues facing the learning disabilities field and advocacy. Below are some of our advocacy training events:
·
Non-instructed advocacy
·
Advocacy dilemmas and the role of advocate
·
The role of the self advocacy supporter
·
Promoting advocacy
We have an increasing number of events delivered by people with a learning disability and family carers. Our events provide opportunities for you to network with others within the learning disability field.

As well as training events, our in-house training department can meet your organisation 's needs - from a single course to working with you to plan and deliver a whole in-house strategy.
