Advocacy
How BILD is involved with advocacy
BILD works in partnership with others to improve the quality of life for people with learning disabilities. One of the best ways of doing this is to make sure that people with a learning disability have their voices heard and listened to so that they have more control over their own life.
Some of the things we do are:
· Work commissioners such as with local authorities and other people who fund advocacy to help them
understand what good advocacy is
· Keep a contact list of independent
advocacy groups around the country
· Promote advocacy for people with high support needs
· Write policies for advocacy
groups to use
· Training on advocacy
