BILD membership for people with learning disabilities
We are working to make membership better for people with learning disabilities
Our "build for the future" group of people with learning disabilities will help us, and so can you.
Please tell us what membership benefits we should be providing.
You can telephone John Thompson (BILD's Membership Manager) on 01562 723010, or email him at j.thompson@bild.org.uk
Here is some information about how membership is now
You can join British Institute of Learning Disabilities either on your own or as part of a group such as an advocacy or self-help group.
It is better if the group joins because all the staff can share the membership benefits. It costs £21 a year for Voluntary Group Membership.
Joining on your own
If you join on your own it costs £10.
You can have a monthly copy of Current Awareness Service, which keeps you up to date with everything new in learning disabilities or you may choose to have a copy of British Journal of Learning Disabilities every three months.
You have a chance to enjoy a low-cost subscription to CASonline, an online database you can search for lists of over 40,000 journal articles, books and pieces of research, grouped into 150 subjects
You can use the membership forum on BILD’s website to share your ideas and concerns with others, and ask questions
You can have your name in BILD’s Membership Who’s Who which helps you contact others who share your interests
You will get regular email newsletters from BILD if you have an email address
You have a chance to make a difference to how BILD is run by coming to our Annual General Meeting
If you want help joining, telephone Pam Mazurek on 01562 723015 or email her at p.mazurek@bild.org.uk
