Learning Disability Awards Framework (LDAF)
The Learning Disability Awards Framework (LDAF) is a major government
initiative introduced in the 2001 White Paper Valuing People. It is designed to
ensure that all staff in learning disability services have the opportunity to
receive an accredited qualification in working with people with learning
disabilities. BILD offers a range of materials to support managers and trainers
delivering LDAF units at Levels 2, 3 and 4 including trainer packs, workbooks,
assessment CDs and learner packs.
I wholeheartedly recommend this pack. Learning Disability Practice
A well designed and accessible resource which should give managers and
trainers alike the means to provide new members of staff with what they need to
know about working with people with learning disabilities.

Induction
All staff new to learning disability services are required to complete a LDAF
induction programme in the first six weeks of work (Valuing People, Department
of Health, 2001).
